Management Team
Trent Edwards
President, Mears Broadband
Trent leads all facets of the organization including strategy, sales, and operations.
He has over 24 years of diverse experience including leadership and management roles in capital and network planning, engineering, operations, construction, network management, safety, and service delivery.
Prior to joining Mears Broadband, Trent served as Senior Vice President of US Operations at Ledcor Technical Services and Vice President of Operations at XO Communications.
John Offutt
COO
In this role, John is responsible for end-to-end delivery of Mears Broadband services, including pre-bid estimation, construction, and safety.
He has over thirty years of experience in project management, engineering and construction of broadband, pipelines, and facilities. Facility work includes tank farms, pump stations and truck racks. Areas of experience include project management, engineering, planning, estimating, procurement, contract negotiation, construction supervision, and project start-ups.
Prior to assuming his role as COO for Mears Broadband, John served for numerous entities in senior management roles including Mears Group, Henkels & McCoy, and Phillips 66.
Allen Hemrich
Senior VP, Operations – Eastern
Allen Hemrich is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Operations at Mears Broadband, LLC in San Antonio, Texas.
Allen is a strategic executive leader with extensive experience in telecom engineering, construction, and operations. Allen earned his MBA from Tulane’s AB Freeman School of Business in New Orleans, LA.
Rick Jordan
Senior VP, Operations – Central
Rick is responsible for all construction activities in the Central Region.
Rick has over 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, with particular emphasis on design, engineering and deployment of large-scale facilities-based communication networks complete with outside plant, inside plant, switching, transmission and network management facilities.
Prior to joining Mears Broadband, Rick served as Executive Vice President for GW Communications and Vice President of Operations for Source Broadband Communications.
Nic Lindner
VP, Operations – Western
Nic leads all operations groups in the Western US and has overseen the establishment and growth of project teams in several states while executing large broadband infrastructure deployments.
Nic has worked within Quanta companies for 11 years, starting in energy infrastructure as an engineer in Australia and joining the Mears Broadband team in 2017 in an operational leadership role.
Bob Brenner
VP, Strategic Partnerships
Bob Brenner is Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for Mears Broadband, and responsible for growing the Telecom line of business. In this capacity Bob is responsible for forming new Business in both the Public/Private sector, creating new client relationships, as well as retaining and developing the current portfolio of clients.
Bob has spent decades in the telecom industry, working across the United States on last mile, middle mile, long-haul fiber, and wireless networks on both sides of the business – lit services, and infrastructure buildouts. He also has significant experience in Stat government funded networks to include Education and Healthcare Networks.
Prior to the joining Mears Broadband, Bob worked at Henkels & McCoy, Adesta (A G4S Technology company), Level 3 Communications, Quest Communications, ICG Communications, and U.S. West Communications.
Heather B. Gold
VP, External Affairs
Heather is responsible for raising the visibility of Mears Broadband throughout the industry including key public stakeholders.
A thirty-year plus industry veteran, Gold has held numerous senior level positions in companies and associations utilizing her skills in public policy and strategy development, coalition formation and enabling creative solutions across multiple diverse teams.
Prior to the joining Mears Broadband, Gold served as the President/CEO of the Fiber Broadband Association, SVP of External Affairs and Access Management for XO Communications.
